Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is your program licensed?

    • Yes. My program is licensed by the state of NY. You can view the status of my license online using the OCFS directory.

  • Do you have a daily schedule?

    • Yes. There is a daily schedule that we generally follow for the different age groups here. If you are interested in our schedule, please refer to the parent handbook or contact me directly for details.    Please note that the schedule is never set in stone and that we are relatively flexible. 

 

  • Do you follow a curriculum?

    • Yes. We follow Teaching Strategies GOLD.  Activities and discussions change daily, but they always follow a theme. Every month the theme changes and parents will be updated accordingly.

  • Are you affiliated or accredited by any organizations?

    • Yes. I am the only provider accredited by the NAFCC in Manhattan. I am also a member of several organizations. If interested, please read more about us on the staff page.

 

  • Is there a fee for late pickup?

    • Yes, there is a fee for late pickups. For specifics regarding pricing and fees, please contact me. 

 

  • What language is spoken to the children?

    • English and Spanish. 

 

  • Do you provide food?

    • Yes. Food is provided various times during the day. Contact me if there are questions or concerns regarding your child's diet. 

 

  • How can I register my child?

    • If you are interested in enrolling your child, please contact me via telephone at (212) 795-8403, so that we may set up an appointment. Calling is the fastest and most reliable way of reaching us!

 

  • How do I withdraw my child from the program?

    • If you would like to remove your child from our program, please contact me in advance.

  • Do you have a sick policy?

    • Yes. Children who come are expected to participate in activities. If they are too sick, do not bring them in. More specifics can be found in the parent handbook.

  • Other than this website, where can I find more information regarding Aura's Bright Children Daycare?

    • While this page is convenient, the best way to decide what place is right for your child is to go and see for yourself. Contact me so that we can plan a visit and we'll help you decide whether or not this is right for your child.
